Another close game where a couple of defensive lapses cost us the game, after Jonny had given us the lead from the penalty spot and a couple of goals were ruled out. Generally the teamwork was good, although a bit of tiredness probably contributed to the mistakes that let Lydiard back into the game.
Captain's Award: Luke, who pulled off some excellent saves in goal.
Coaches' Award: Frank, who was commending again at the back.

Sunday 26th September: U16 v Penhill Kinghts (cup)
The team played some great football in coming back from two goals down to take the lead early in second half. Good work from player of the match, Dom, set up Matt C for the first before half time. It was Dom again who jinked into the box to set up Jonny for the equaliser, before Luke scored with a spectacular overhead kick. Unfortunately the rest of the match is best forgotten, although it has to be said that the team were a credit to the club in intimidating circumstances.

Sunday 19th September: U16 v Greenmeadow
An excellent all-round team performance enabled us to gain the first points and first clean sheet of the new season. All the players battled well, creating plenty of chances in the wind-assisted first half. There was a slight concern that Dom's goal might not be enough of a lead to take into the second half, playing against both the wind and the slope, but the team defended sternly and could have had one or two more goals before Luke sealed the win.
Captain's Award: Toby, for pulling off some great saves in keeping his second-ever clean sheet.
Coaches' Award: Matt J, who battled for everything in the middle of the park.
Squad: Luke (1), Will, Toby, James, Matt C, Matt J, Jonny L, Frank, Dom (1), Jack, Matt R, Ryan (captain) and Dan

Sunday 12 September: U16 v Highworth Town Juniors T
This was a much better team performance than the previous week, which led to the match being goal-less at half time. We were unlucky to go behind in the second half and then to be left exposed as we tired and worked hard to get back into the game.
Squad: Luke, Oli, Toby, James, Matt C, Matt J, Frank (captain), Jonny, Dom, Jonathon, Dan and Ryan

Sunday 5th September: U16 v Fairford Town
Fairford dominated the first half of the match, racing into a three-goal lead before half time, but it could have been worse as they squandered a number of chances before their scored. Jonny's penalty at the start of the second was well-saved by the Fairford keeper, before they added another goal. As the second half progressed we became much stronger, creating many chances, before Dom pulled a goal back to complete the scoring.
Frank was deservedly given both player of the match awards for a commanding performance as he dominated the centre of defence.
