A disappointing end to the season in terms of the result, as Lydiard converted their only two chances in the first half and just a goal from Jack before the break reduced the deficit, even though we had had most of the play.
An unfortunate slip let Lydiard consolidate their lead early in the second half and, in spite of continued possession and chances, Lydiard kept scoring on the break. Jack got a second goal and Luke cracked one home too, but it wasn't enough.
Coaches' Award: Matt C, who put in a tough defensive performance.
Captain's Award: Jack, for a strong attacking performance.
Squad: Luke, Will, Toby, James, Matt C, Jonny L, Frank, Dom, Jack, Matt R (captain), Ryan, Dan, Tom and Chris

Wednesday 28th April: U15 v Stratton Youth
This was another game of two halves, as Stratton displayed a much-improved performance in the first half and could have scored two or three goals. Fortunately Will scored right on the stroke of half time and this gave more confidence for the second half.
Will added a second goal almost from kick off, which initially meant everyone sat back and allowed Stratton to immediately pull a goal back. This galvanised the team and we finally started to play football again, with Jonny scoring a cracking volley, Luke skipping through the defence and Frank finally getting his chance as he pinched the ball from Matt R to crack it home. Frank then went on a surging run to crack home an excellent goal to wrap up the win.
The two awards reflected the hard work and creative play of the central midfielders, as Luke was given the Captain's Award and Matt R received the Coaches' Award.
Squad: Luke, Oli, Will (captain), Toby, James, Matt C, Matt J, Jonny L, Frank, Jack, Matt R, Ryan, Dan and Chris

Sunday 25th April: U15 v Stratton Youth
In contrast to the other recent matches, this one was lovely to watch, with the whole team re-discovering how to pass, communicate and move off the ball. An early goal from Will settled the nerves and we were comfortably ahead 7-0 at half time, after goals from Luke, Jack, another from Will, Matt, Dom and an own goal.
Credit must go to Dom for agreeing to take over in goal from Toby, who made his on-pitch debut. Pick of the goals was Dan's strike, whilst Jonny scored a couple and Jack and Will added to their tally.
Coaches' Award: Will, for his strong running and hat trick.
Captain's Award: Jonny, for another strong performance.

Thursday 22nd April: U15 v Lydiard Youth
Unfortunately it was another flat performance against Lydiard on a very hard, bumpy pitch, when we barely managed a shot on target.
Coaches' Award: Dan, who put in a typically gritty performance.
Captain's Award: Toby, who pulled off some fine saves.

Sunday 18th April: U15 v Highworth Town Juniors T
It was another disappointingly flat performance against Highworth, reflected in the absence of a decent shot on target. Communication was a major area of concern, as it was very quiet on the pitch throughout the game. We'll now look forward to the final four games...
Captain's Award: Chris, who had an excellent game in defence
Coaches' Award: Luke, who put in another committed performance

Sunday 11th April: U15 v Hungerford Town
Unfortunately we couldn't complete the triple against Hungerford after conceding too many goals in the first half and not taking our chances. We weren't helped again by two significant injuries that meant the team was playing with only ten players for much of the match.
The second half showed a significant improvement, with the reward being Luke's hat trick and the final goal for Will after a good passing move. Credit also to Toby for a superb penalty save at the end.
