Sunday 18th December: U18 v Cricklade Youth

A goal from Will meant that the first half finished even against Cricklade, but the ten players could not score in the second half and went down to an unfortunate defeat.

Sunday 27th November: U18 v Lydiard Youth

By all accounts this was an unfortunate defeat. It was level at half time following a goal from Matt R. Will scored in the second half, but Lydiard's winner took a freakish deflection to leave Ollie stranded.

Sunday 20th November: U18 v Stratton Youth

The first half was end to end in this match but, unfortunately, it seemed as if Stratton scored each time they attacked, whilst we struggled to put the ball in the net. Our only goal came from Will's head, to pull it back to 1-2, but more Stratton goals made it an uphill battle. The second half performance was better, but there was only a headed goal from Matt R.

Sunday 13th November: U18 v Ramsbury

Although there were some good performances, we were undone by allowing Ramsbury to take a three-goal lead. Goals from James W and Will brought Wanborough back into the game before half time. However an early goal from Ramsbury made it an uphill battle, but the team fought back well to score again through Matt J and Jack D. Ramsbury again took the lead before a superb strike from James C pulled Wanborough level again, but there was still time for Ramsbury to steal a winner.

Sunday 6th November: U18 v Rodbourne Cheney Youth

A strong team performance resulted in a well-deserved victory over Rodbourne Cheney. A hat trick from Jonny, two goals from Ollie and a single from Jack P gained the three points.

Sunday 9th October: U18 v Shrivenham & Watchfield (Cup)

This was a very disappointing game, as the team allowed Shrivenham to run the game and progress easily into the next round of the cup. The one bright spot was Jack's debut goal.

Sunday 2nd October: U18 v Coleshill

This was a game of two halves, with Wanborough twice taking the lead in the first half through Ollie and Jack, before Coleshill equalised each time with two soft goals.

Coleshill came out much stronger in the second half and ran out comfortable winners.

Sunday 18th September: U18 v FC Chippenham B

For most of the game this was a very tight match. Chippenham took an early lead, before Matt R headed home from Matt C's long throw. Chippenham scored a good goal before half time, and there were chances at either end after the break, before the result was wrapped up with two late breakaway goals.

Sunday 11th September: U18 v The Beeches

This proved to a tough game, with The Beeches having some accomplished players. The away team took a 2-0 half time lead, before a well-worked team goal saw Matt R side-foot home. The Beeches added a second goal, before Jack P finished off another good passing move.   Unfortunately The Beeches completed the scoring with a breakaway goal to take the points.

Sunday 4th September: U18 v Shrivenham & Watchfield

This was a tough start to the season, against last season's champions, who had been strengthened by some new signings. The first half was tight but we were made to pay by some superior finishing, to trail 3-0 at the break.

The second half started much better and Jack eventually capitalised on a defensive mix up, before Jonny scored a well-taken free kick. Unfortunately injuries and tired legs put paid to the comeback and Shrivenham went on to score too many in the last few minutes.

Saturday 10th July: Calne Tournament

The season ended on a high note, as both teams managed to secure semi final places in the tournament.

The A team played well in their four group games - winning two and drawing the other two. Luke fired in two freekicks, whilst Jonny also got two and Ben scored the other goal. Unfortunately AFC Newbury proved too strong in the semi-final, winning 2-0, before they went on to win the tournament.

The B team were unlucky to lose their first two games 1-0, after failing to take any of their chances, but a header from Matt beat a strong AFC Corsham team (who ended up as losing finalists) and Matt also scored the equaliser against AFC Newbury, the eventual winners, to secure a semi-final in the plate against Chippenham. The semi was decided by a single goal scored by Chippenham in the first half.

Sunday 1st May: U16 v Cricklade

Unfortunately the magnificent performance on Thursday could not be repeated and a deflected goal from Frank was the only chance that was taken.

Thursday 28th April: U16 v Cricklade

This was one of the best performances of the season, with the whole team playing their part. Luke and Tom both pulled off some smart saves in each half, but Cricklade were allowed few shots on goal. After a number of missed chances, Frank gave us the lead before Cricklade equalised. A number of other chances were created, before Jonny put us in front again before half time. The second half continued to be dominated with Luke and then Matt C scoring further goals.

Sunday 10th April: U16 v Hungerford Town

The match was evenly balanced, as we came back from an early goal down to take the lead with two goals from Luke. Frank then scored with a strong header (both ball and Jack), but with James suffering a broken collar bone, the second half became disjointed and Hungerford scored a few soft goals to take the points.

Sunday 20th March: U16 v Stratton Youth

The team bounced back well with a fine effort from all the players to narrowly defeat Stratton. The wind played a big factor in the scoring in the match, with the first four goals at the same end: Frank headed powerfully to give us the lead, before Luke was brought down and successfully converted the resultant penalty.

Stratton came back strongly after the break and eventually drew level. The response was perfect though as, first Jonny was denied a goal, before Will scored the winner.

Sunday 13th March: U16 v Shrivenham & Watchfield

Shrivenham dominated the first half, but the team showed a marked improvement second half, with two goals from Luke as the consolation.

Sunday 6th March: U16 v Ramsbury

A good team performance led to a host of goal-scoring chances in the first half. James and Jack put away their shots to give us a half time lead, before Matt R added a third early in the second half. A late consolation was all Ramsbury could manage, as we recorded our fourth win of the season to go above them in the table.

A narrow defeat to Coleshill in this game, where we failed to make enough of our chances and Matt C scored our only goal.

A really good game against Hungerford Town, with everyone playing well.

Sunday 23rd January: U16 v Greenmeadow

Sunday's match is at home against Greenmeadow, with a 2pm kickoff. Everyone should meet at Hooper's Field at 1.30pm to warm up and set up the pitch.

Sunday 16th January: U16 v Highworth Town Juniors

This was a superb performance against a side at the top of the table, even with a few injuries during the match. There could have been more goals, but two each from Will and Luke, plus one from Matt R secured a memorable win.
